John, that's nothing short of amazing. I would attempt to build the signals only to operate them with toggle switches, LOL. It's very impressive you can write the code to make all of this work. These are two tallents that very few people posses at the same time.

I would make a jig out of bass wood strips to hold everything in alignment during assembly. Then use a heat sink on the mast for the final solder spot onto the board. What you've done above would be a real challenge freestyle. Thank you for sharing all of these progress pictures with us.

Wow. I just caught up with this thread. I'm impressed. I'm not sure what to be more impressed with. The hardware side or the software side. Both seem pretty hard from where I'm at.

More progress. I added most of the details and got it painted. I even installed nut-bolt-washers on the channel into the concrete though I lost more than I actually installed. I'm most pleased that the whole thing stays held up by the connector. I'm going to put 4"x12" wood on top as the PC board doesn't take paint well and it certainly looks like a PC board. I also need to secure the wire down the side of the structure. The PC board luckily snapped into the I-beams so I could in-theory take it back out if I need to fix something. I painted the hoods and shades but thought I should let them dry completely tonight before I install them with crystal clear. And yes, I still have to update the software so main track one eastbound can display something other than red. Maybe I can be done tomorrow, it looks like I need to detail and paint some more engines.

That's very impressive. The detailed modeling is great in its own right, plus the coding... very nice.

I think I'm going to consider this one done (still excepting the software I need to update). Now I have 3 "standard" signal bridges to do for Graham and Lucas. They should be considerably easer. Note the new Scale Trains SD40-2 that showed up today - very nice. I should probably get out the Nikon and figure out how to use Helicon Focus to get better depth of field. Anyway, off to the next project.
