    RMR's header photos

One of the things Allen and I decided relatively early on was the header photo for the RMR homepage would be changed every few months. We have so many talented modelers here, that locking it down to just one photo for an indeterminate period seemed out of place.

Every single one of the header photos has been Allen's choice, which tells you what a good eye he has for photos that "grab" the viewer. And every header photo the past two years of RMR's existence has made me, with my still-extant editor's eye for a great photo (Even if I can't shoot one!) say, "Wow!" Perhaps none moreso than N Scale Brad 's shot of UP and SP trains passing in the midst of the Nevada desert. I don't know about you, but the realism is almost startling.

Just wanted to rave about the header photos. Keep 'em coming, because when someone comes to the RMR site who's not been here before, those photos show as much as anything what we're about.

Old magazines can still be fresh sources of hobby information!

This is not exactly true Paul.
What I do is watch threads and when I see images posted that stands out to me I make note of them.
Then I contact the owner of the image and ask if I can use a certain image of theirs or I'll ask if they have a particular favorite that they'd like to see as a header image for the quarter.

Then I'll work with them to see if I can get it to fit the format of the header.

To echo Paul's words: "Keep'em coming!"

I have a folder that I keep photos of along with the members names.
At first, with not a lot of members, I had the header photo change four times a year.
Getting new blood to the forum, I'm seeing more and more good photos, so it might change to bi-monthly.

If you feel you have photo fit for the header image, feel free to send it to me via PM and I'll do my best to get it lined up for the header.
Right now I've got at least a dozen names of members and most of them have a photo that I'd like to use.

Keep posting them in your layout threads, the Image gallery, the weekly image thread or the Weekend Updates... Thanks

It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

Good motivation for me to take more artistic shots and push forward with stalled buildings/scenery.

      Here's one I've never shared. I think 🤔

The header photos are always consistent masterpieces. Keep up the good work Allen.
