    Creating foreground extensions for our layouts.

    Just stumbled across this video that shows how to improve our layout videos and layout photography.
    Looks pretty simple.
    (Yes, I posted this in both the Photography and the Video channels)

    It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

    That is really a cool idea Allen. A super easy way to temporarily double the width of your layout to capture photos with some depth.

      There is an article by Mark Carlson in the November 2022 Model Railroader about building portable foreground scenery extensions, very similar approach to this.

      thanks Allen for sharing this. My layout is a shelf no deeper then 24” except for one dead corner. This is a great idea and a light weight one that I might be able to use.

        You're welcome Tom.
        I have have quite a bit of my layout that is close to the front edge and this should work good to get some depth without seeing the fascia.
