I'll echo what Denny said! Well done.
I'm wondering if you mean 1980s in West Virginia? CSX wasn't formed until July 1986. Its predecessor, the Chesapeake & Ohio, was still using steam locomotives in the 1950s.Southern Railway Slate Fork Branch, March 1978

First layout? Seriously?
Those scenes are wonderfully done. As Denny mentioned: "Vegetation is very realistic as are the structures."
Very well done Ianscale.
Looking forward to hearing more about your layout: size, shape, history.

Rule #1 of model railroading.
It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

I wanted to post this trestle bridge my dad built for the layout it’s scratch built with a road running under it the east end. He has never built nscale model before but I think he did a fantastic job. He did the bench work and backdrop with curved corners. Used some flexible drywall from 84 lumber.
