The Little Rock Line Blog
Rule #1 of model railroading.
It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

Well done James. After seeing stills and short videos of the Hills Line it has kind of taken on a mythical status IMO. Knowing that you work with video professionally and are a Photoshop wizard, that's not surprising. However, as I was watching the video the thought that popped into my head was "I can do this." As in, I can reach the level of model building I watched roll by. Certainly no disrespect meant. Your work is excellent. And when you dress it up with photoshop it's beyond excellent. I will never reach the video excellence you've attained that's for sure. But getting the details of the modeled environment right, with some extra effort, yes.
I had a similar epiphany back in the pre digital photo days. I was in awe of the V&O (still love it for all it stood for) but when I had the chance to see it in person I thought the same thing. "I can do this."

Like always I am late to the party. Anyways, I poked around here a little and then went to your website. After 5 minutes of looking around there I just had to subscribe. Your model railroading skills are really outstanding and your photography skills are simply breathtaking. Thanks for posting about your continued progress on your layout.
PS. I am following you on flickr now as well.Last edited by LorenC; 09-08-2022, 09:47 PM.Loren Clarke - Fort Worth, Texas

That is a wonderful photo James and perfect framing use of negative space. That is something that I am trying to put into practice on my layout addition but for some reason always forget about when taking photos.Loren Clarke - Fort Worth, Texas

We’re gonna try something a little different here on The Hills Line…
Join me for a livestream broadcast from the layout next Sunday, April 30th starting at 8pm Central Time. I’ll provide the latest progress, a look ahead to future projects, and a special announcement about the return of a former series.
The stream will be available on The Hills Line’s YouTube channel, and I’m looking forward to sharing and connecting with as many of you as possible. Hope to see you there!
