I never had a layout thread before so please bare with me and we will see how this goes.
I started this layout about 4 years ago. It is located in a 10’ x 15’ room in my basement. I drew up the track plan using Microsoft Visio instead of actual track planning software. If I could do it all over again I would get some track planning software.
Anyway here is my track plan as it was drawn. I have deviated from it a bit but for the most part this is how I laid the track down.

I hand painted all my track. Boy did that take a long time. Ballasting is about 60% complete.
I use TrainController software to operate my layout. I have it configured to run all my trains (longer freights doing roundy rounds as well as local freights switching cars from my yard to various industries and back again). I use Electromagnetic Uncouplers from Rapido to uncouple the cars at the various industries and in the yard.
Recently I installed Phillips Hue lights in my train room. I can now use the TrainController software to simulate Sunrises and Sunsets as the trains are running.
The scenery is at various stages of being complete. Attached are a few pictures.

Thanks for looking,
Warren
