Some progress on the layout. If you look at my first post, I had a big, open section at the back of my layout. I had one bridge there and that was about it. I needed an excuse for the two bridges that are there now.
Since then I finished the dam and lake, waiting for an order of real water to get here. Finished closing up the benchwork with plaster cloth and paper mache. Did some initial painting and trimmed out the window. The wall is concrete with foam covering it. The blue paint on it came off after masking the window for painitng. I wIll get some proper blue paint this week when I go to Anchorage.
It all ready looks better. Still need to ballast the track, put in one more switch machine and re-paint the wall. I'm putting a shelf up higher, around the room, where I can run some longer trains on a level surface with big curves. I'm going to put LED strip lights under it to light up the room better. My layout is too steep and tight for six axle stuff or larger.

Got the shelf layout done with 48" curves. Need to order more roadbed and track. Nearly finished the dam and lake. Repainted the back wall. Cleaned up the concrete floor and put down a coat of epoxy paint. Need to put up a couple panels on the ceiling and the room will be finished. All the stuff I should have done before the benchwork

Added a small station to the layout. 3D print model came out well. "kabrumble" has a lot of great models available.

I bought a fire truck for the layout and realized it wouldn't fit through the garage door in the current fire station. This of course means I needed to build a new fire station...
This is another model from kabrumble and it printed well. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6080398

Is that a solid print or did it print in sections?
Looks good. The Little Rock Line Blog
Rule #1 of model railroading.
It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

Urban renewal is still underway. I relaid my townsite, put in a piece of masonite, curved around the corner of the wall and put in a printed backdrop. Still have more painting and vegetation to add.
I also got my Jagerndorfer ÖBB Ep VI railjet control car set in the mail to go with my ÖBB 1216 Taurus. The control car has its own function decoder to control its lights (headlights, taillights, cab and interior). Impressive in the dark. I tried to take a picture, but it doesn't do it justice.
Some progress.

I've been working on a container gantry/loading facility. This fits well into the limited scape I have for this activity. I had fun trying to tie knots in thread. Another kabrumble design, he has some nice models.

I'm putting together shop/operations building. Nearly have it done, going to put a couple of LEDs in it. You can find the .stl files at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3257550 Printed nicely and it looks good. Also working on a radio station/tower. Just need a red LED for the top of it.

That is a good looking building, I like the skylights, not something one sees often.
Very reminiscent of Rix buildings. The Little Rock Line Blog

I put together a radio station and tower. It's maybe a 120 scale feet tall. Had to wait for some 3mm LEDs to arrive in the mail to finish it. I had to use magnet wire to run power to the top. A fun project, I still need to put my callsign on it.
The stl file for this can be found at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3747956
