I sand the resin ends as straight as possible and using a flat surface glue the Lego to the ends. After drying I’ll gently sand the end on the flat surface so I know the two pieces are perfectly flat. The Lego not only provides more surface for the ends to attach to but you can hold the sides and ends together better with your fingers as you line up the pieces. I use gap filling ACC on the inside of the corners after I’m pleased with how the two pieces look. I always build the ‘box’ before attaching the roof as the top to the sides and ends may need sanding to get the roof to lie flat. I only mention this as the F&C instructions for the NP truss rod car has you glueing the ends to the roof first which sounds like a way to ruin a build.
