Just was recently added as a listee. I started with the Missouri Pacific in 1974 in western Kansas and worked the entire system in our station’s department. Then with Union Pacific retiring some 12 years ago after 38 years. Living in Omaha the past 18 years. Besides an HO layout, I build 1/48 airplanes (WWI) and 1/35 armor. Also have a 1976 Triumph TR6 that I enjoy during top down season. I’ll post images of the layout next week with some history of the prototype

Welcome aboard Charlie! The Little Rock Line Blog
Rule #1 of model railroading.
It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

Welcome aboard! MoPac was a highly interesting route, and it will be fun to see how you model it.
Omaha? So a House of Trains frequent flyer? My dad took me there when I was 8 after getting my first train, TYCO CB&Q freight set. Always had the memory, but didn't know where until I went there in 16, and it just blew me away that the shop was still there!

HoT is alive an well in today’s internet environment. They do DCC installs and have a great inventory. They are currently sponsoring a model railroad club and are building a layout in their back room.

That only time I got there, was a great trip down memory lane, and I was able to pick up an IM AC-12 cheap! It was a used one, but ran great until the original tsunami puked... Fun place! I am glad to hear they are still open. I will have to make a point to get down there.

Alan B, your next trip back, you have to schedule some time to go to House of Trains, my place and Spring Creek Hobbies in Deshler.
Their show schedule this year is listed here: https://www.springcreekmodeltrains.com/show-schedule/
There's going to be a Free-Mo meet in April and then their annual open house in is in July this year.

The April show is a no-go. We have scheduled the Livingston-Helena Railfairs. Two different weekends this year, 22 April in Livingston and the 30th in Helena. Going to spend some time chasing MRL between times before they are gone.... However, the July show may be a possibility..... Then, being in the area, Lincoln ain't far nor is Omaha. Then on to the farm over in Guthrie county Iowa to see Ma and family. Hmmmm.

Yes, get your Montana Rail Link photos soon! The STB just approved the BNSF merger; pretty much a foregone conclusion.
Gone is one of the most interesting Class 2 regional railroads. ...Southern Railway Slate Fork Branch, March 1978
