Looks like you've got a plan and a lot of work ahead of you Alan. You didn't show the portion of your layout that is directly to the left of the section you're moving in. I would leave the yard section in tact including the switch at the far left and position it over the track to the left if at all possible. I think this whole change will be a better arrangement for you when it's all finished. Thanks for the video.

You know, Alan, noted track planner Byron Henderson proposed a three-level layout in Model Railroad Planning 2008 that had disconnected staging. Not everyone's cup of coffee, for sure, but train elevators and the like are options.Southern Railway Slate Fork Branch, March 1978

Well. I had to get out there and clear off my Tax time work table, and start on doing that stuff. Then I can file for SSA after that is filed. Ain't sure what to think about that sometimes, not as young as I once was!
But, setting there looking at the layout and how it is just sitting, stirred up them creative juices again. Not that it hasn't been on my mind. I did have a project to work on out there this summer, the Trainshed being a safe place to lacquer up a "mini-library" for a gal here in town.
Here's a video outlining the status of things and some of my thoughts. The worst of it is, making one change leads to another, and another..... 🤣
Any input is appreciated.

That looks like a lot of work! I hope it all goes well Alan. The Little Rock Line Blog
Rule #1 of model railroading.
It's probably responsible for the greatest number of shoddy layouts because no one feels compelled to improve themselves. Meh, good enough...

Well, it has been a while. I spent some time yesterday clearing out accumulated "Debris" from in the Trainshed. Now to organize a bit of the good stuff, and then work on clearing out the layout area.
I have an actual plan for the rerouting of the mainline, halfway executed. But to finish, I have to clear out the tax paperwork, other miscellaneous stuff collected over the last year, and then get to work fixing it up.
At the same time, we are working on planning where to put the Trainshed upon relocating it out to the country place. Oh, we have acquired a place 25 some miles out of town along the old NP mainline up Beaver Hill. Quiet and out of the way. This video is of the area around it and including the house and outbuildings.

As a creative exercise, (I am NOT planning on a modernized road, ) it would be neat to get some input on what a 1960-80's NP&BH boxcar might look like. A generic 50' plug door type using similar lettering to what I have in the 1920's era.
My thought was a black boxcar with a C&NW yellow plug door. With white lettering? But any input is good.
Here's a pic of what the 20's era boxcars have,
Creative license applies and all input is welcomed.

Yup. Next step is getting that curve right! For good running and no string lining of trains, that is always a tension builder.

Yeah, the curve will be broad, Been busy doing pre-winter prep here. Roof on a shed, firewood to cut, fence to fix and a pickup to put back together. The engine is opened up, gotta do that today. when I get back to the layout, you can bet there will be a nice bit of track there, smooth curves and a little less grade.
